What does IronRidge do?

IronRidge designs and manufactures photovoltaic mounting systems for the solar industry. By partnering with the industry’s leading integrators and distributors, IronRidge delivers a breadth of mounting solutions that offer the simplicity and lowest cost of installation they are looking for. IronRidge products are relied upon every day in installations that range from small, single-use residential applications to some of the largest industrial deployments in the world.

How long has IronRidge been in business?

IronRidge was founded in 1996 and has been a leader in the solar mounting business since.

Where is IronRidge located?

Our primary manufacturing and customer service facilities are located in beautiful Mendocino County and just a few hours north of the San Francisco bay area.

Why does it matter which mounting vendor I choose?

The up front cost of mounting products is typically just a small percentage of the overall cost of a solar installation. But the choice of mounting vendor plays a significant role in the overall success and total cost of any project. IronRidge has a comprehensive set of engineering documentation and technical support tools necessary to support you through all phases of a project lifecycle. In addition, our products are always designed to be easy-to-learn and fast-to-install. Although cheaper options may be available, IronRidge products provide the lowest total cost of installation by reducing labor and additional material costs. Lastly, our customer service is unparalleled in this industry. Our top priority is to always provide our partners and their customers with experienced, prompt, and courteous service.

Are you hiring?

To help support its growth, IronRidge is often looking to add to its team. To receive consideration for potential opportunities, you are welcome to send a cover letter and resume to jobs@ironridge.com.

Will you mail me a printed product catalog?

As an environmentally conscious company, we do not publish a printed catalog. There is a link at the top of every page called "Product Catalog". Clicking on this link will allow you to view our catalog online. If desired, you may also print the catalog from your own printer. We find that this system saves our company thousands of dollars and allows customers to print what they need, saving landfills of wasted paper.

Can you design a custom solution for my project?

Our comprehensive suite of products can fit the unique budgetary, power, and environmental needs of most projects. However, sometimes there are unique situations in which a custom design may be required. In these situations, please contact us directly at sales@ironridge.com, and we can help you design the custom solution you require.

How do I determine the wind and snow load for my area?

The building parameters for wind and snow load vary throughout the country.  To find what the requirements are for your area please check ASCE 7-05 for the appropriate wind ratings and snow ratings for your location in the country. In some cases local jurisdiction has final say on wind and snow loads, and it may be necessary to verify findings with the local authorities. Copies of the ASCE 7-05 Wind Chart can be found in our Document Library, under drawings.

What is the best way to provide grounding with your product?

IronRidge recommends using the WEEB grounding products from Wiley Electronics to save time and avoid having to run copper wiring through your install.  The WEEB product line includes a WEEB grounding lug at the end of each rail and a WEEB bonding jumper at each splice point. WEEB DMC clips are placed below the IronRidge mid-clamps between the modules.  For illustrations and detailed instructions please see our WEEB grounding installation guide [link].

Does IronRidge provide engineering support?

All of the IronRidge products are certified by a licensed Profession Engineering for use in many states. These stamped letters can be found in our Technical Library.

Are your products manufactured in America?

For projects requiring compliance with the Buy American requirements of Section 1605 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“ARRA”), IronRidge can provide, upon request, with a letter certifying that the purchased IronRidge solar mounting system is compliant with the ARRA provisions

What if my module is not listed in your configuration tools?

If a module you plan to use is not included in our configuration tools, you can email a request for its addition, as well as a fully dimensioned, official spec sheet from the module manufacturer to service@ironridge.com. Please note it must contain the dimensioned locations of the manufacturer supplied mounting holes on the module's frame. It may take up to a week to appear on the IronRidge website.
